The Ethics of Aging

11 Nov, 20

This post is based on Dixie Golden’s answer on Quora regarding aging.

I remember well that at in young age for me it was difficult to comprehend when elders used to give advice like: “Think well before speak” or “Young age is foundation of life.”

Once I become father, I looked closely and able to realize that human growth is slow and if elders used to ask us not to involve in sex etc in young age that was a fair ask. There is a very valid reason as per physical growth why young should not be allowed in certain activities.

Till Six month, baby cannot even neck.

Never try to stand your kid before one year as leg bones are not matured by that time, if you do that you will just harm baby and it will take longer him to start standing.

Kid can not see anything at birth…everything is blur…then black and white and after 1 year color can be seen.

They cannot remember events at early stage. May be after 1 year they can remember few things.

Infants only express either by crying or laugh. No other mode of communication. So it is a hard guess game when you need to deal with them. Difficult to know why they are not eating, when they are full, if they want only water, if there is a natural call, they have fever or itching.

I never thought that parenting would be so tough before I had kids. Because I was never exposed to that toughness. The world seems to be so logical and straight if we only consider Adults. You just include kids and old people uncertainty started.
